A young man named Orion is carrying a large, double-edged axe. He is stalking his prey, possessed by one single thought -- to kill! His hands are calloused, but his soul is not, as he always strives to be kind to others, despite his strong desire to kill. He has killed 11 times already today, but he feels compelled to kill at least two more times because that very morning Orion believes he heard a voice instructing him to kill no fewer than 13 today. Orion plans to use his axe to kill only those older than 50 years of age. Many other people have witnessed his multiple axe killings, but no one has ever tried to intervene or report his actions to the police. What is wrong with these people? It appears obvious that Orion is seriously mentally ill and suffers from auditory hallucinations with delusional thinking. How can his killing spree possibly be ignored? Or, is there some reasonable explanation for these events? Just what in the world is happening here?
Answer: Orion works as a lumberjack. At the start of his work, Orion’s boss instructed him to meet his quota for the day by using his axe to chop down at least 13 mature trees.

Three families from the hills of eastern Kentucky decided to pull up stakes, form a wagon train, and head for the state of Nevada to seek their fortunes in the gold and silver mines located there. Each family took the bare essentials with them, and packed only their most precious belongings into the three wagons they were using for the journey. On their 2,000 mile trip to Nevada, the wagon train encountered no hostile Indian attacks from the Apaches or the Comanches, and they had no difficulty crossing any of the many rivers they came to, even though the spring flooding season was upon them. One might expect a journey of this magnitude, moving three families with all of their possessions packed into three wagons on a 2,000 trip, to take at least two or three months, but miraculously, the wagon train arrived in Nevada after only four days. How is this possible?
Answer: This trip for the three families took place in the 1960s. The wagon train consisted of three station wagons.

What can emit an umbra on the earth, provide phosphorescence for all it's creatures. All while altering the visual surface of itself within phases?
Answer: The moon.

32 white horses on a red hill. First Chomping, then stomping, then standing still. What am I describing?

You are stuck in a temple with eight other people and there are four potential exits,sadly you only have an hour to escape with your group. But, of course, there is a curse that attacks to people causing them to lie and you don't know who they are. How will you and you group escape in time without going through the wrong tunnel?
Answer: Well since you know you are not one of the cursed you can go down a tunnel yourself but you want a good answer from the rest so you split the groups in three leaving two left. Let those two go down one tunnel and the other six go down two separate tunnels as well. When you all meet back 20 minutes later either you have found the tunnel or someone else. Now look at the rule majority rules. If the group of three has 2 people saying it wasn't down that tunnel then you should know it wasn't down that tunnel and one of the liars have been spotted. Same with the other group of three as well as the group of two. Judging by the answers the groups gave you, you should go down the right tunnel and head to safety while the spirits possessing the two people should leave and all is well.

Which of the men is so prudent and wise as to say who drives me on my path, when I rise up strong, at times severe, powerfully prominent, sometimes vengeful, I travel throughout the land, burn houses. Smoke rises, grey over rooftops. The trees on earth shall be, the violent death of men, when I shake the woods, the flowering forests, fell tall trees, roofed with rain, by the highest powers, driven in my wandering, widely sent; I have on my back what once covered men, body, and soul, both in water. Say who covers me, or how I am called, that bears that burden. What am I?
Answer: A violent storm.

Susy is traveling by ship from south of the equator to the north. She has a nice little cabin with a bathroom, but no window. Sally has no compass nor other instruments. Just the general luggage one brings on board a long cruise. Yet, without leaving her room or talking with anyone, Susy will be able to tell when the ship has crossed the equator. How?
Answer: Susy can fill the sink and watch it drain. When the water reverses direction when going down the drain, she will know they have crossed the equator.

If a hen and a half lay an egg and a half in a day and a half, how many eggs will half a dozen hens lay in half a dozen days?
Answer: Two dozen. If you increase both the number of hens and the amount of time available four-fold, the number of eggs increases 16 times. 16 x 1.5 = 24.
