Riddle:
Terry was having a bad day, after having a bad week and a bad month. His long-time bridge partner had just moved away, and the stock he held in the Red Roof Inn Company had just taken a nose-dive. He felt he was ready to snap, as he climbed into his car and began to drive. Suddenly, Terry felt something snap but realized it was only a pencil he had in his pocket, but this mild irritation only fueled his pent-up anger. Terry stepped on the accelerator and headed straight for a green sedan, smashing into it and causing its trunk to fly open. He then put his car into reverse, and backed into a red mini-van, causing its hood to pop up and its radiator to burst, sending a shower of radiator fluid shooting high into the air. After continuing to smash into at least a dozen other vehicles, Terry's car finally stopped, and somehow, he miraculously stepped out of his car uninjured. Just a few moments later, two police officers, who had witnessed the entire event without intervening, approached Terry and gave him something that made him -- smile. Why hadn’t the police called for backup and intervened earlier to prevent additional damage from being done, and what was it they gave Terry which made him smile?
Answer: The two police officers had given Terry a First Place Trophy for his having just won a Demolition Derby they had all just witnessed.

Tristen received a phone call late one evening from his old science teacher, Mr. Riddleopoulous, asking him to come over to his house to see a few things he felt would interest him. Tristen remembered Mr. Riddleopoulous, a man of Greek descent, as being a person who always spoke in riddles, and was always vague when asking questions and giving answers and instructions. Tristen arrived at the Riddleopoulous residence just after 9:30 p.m., and was immediately ushered back to the patio of his teacher’s house. “See if you remember how to use this ‘precision instrument’,”said the teacher to his former student, “and locate the following: a Big kitchen utensil, a Little kitchen utensil, the Roman god of war, the Roman goddess of love, a liquid associated with thermometers, and a Candy Bar.” Remembering how Mr. Riddleopoulous interacted with everyone, Tristen was soon able to find all six of the locations requested ——— Can you? First, to solve this brainteaser, you must identify the “precision instrument” used by Tristen; and Second, you must name at least three of the six locations Mr. Riddleopoulous asked him to find. You and your friend are trapped in a space prison on an alien planet. The alien warden decides to give you and your friend a chance at freedom. He states that your friend shall be allowed to temporarily leave your cell and try to escape through an electric gate guarded by a 3-number passcode. If your friend answers incorrectly or says anything but the final answer, your friend will be thrown back in the prison. A computer will then tell your friend 4 clues if requested. If this passcode is properly answered, you and your friend shall be freed. You are then blindfolded and your friend leaves. You hear your friend walk down one of the numbered hallways to the gate. Your friend asks for the first clue. A voice answers, "The numbers are in ascending order so that the number is greater than or equal to the number before it." Your friend asks for the second clue. The voice says, "The product of the 3 numbers is 36." Your friend asks for the third clue. The voice says, "The sum of the numbers is the number of the hallway you entered." Your friend pauses for a moment and thinks. Your friend then asks for the fourth and final clue. The voice says, "The largest number only appears once in the code." You hear a beep.
