New Riddles

Riddle: A girl, a horse, and her dog approached a bridge. The girl rode her horse across the bridge, and yet walked. How is this possible?
Answer: The dog's name is Yet.
Riddle: Ripped from my mother's womb, beaten and burned, I become a blood-thirsty slayer. What am I?
Answer: Iron ore.
Riddle: I hold a thousand voices, yet not one sound I make. I open doors to worlds though I never roam or break. In lines I travel paths, but never take a step— When you seek new places, I am the map you’ve kept. What am I?
Answer: A Book.
Riddle: A large truck is crossing a bridge 1 mile long. The bridge can only hold 14000 lbs, which is the exact weight of the truck. The truck makes it half way across the bridge and stops. A bird lands on the truck. Does the bridge collapse? Give a reason.
Answer: No it does not collapse. Because it has driven a half mile - you would subtract the gas used from the total weight of the truck.
