A Word For The Wise
Riddle: My name is revered in many places, and despised in others. People often come to me seeking wisdom and advice, and usually I can help them, if they follow my guidance. I am the overseer of two groups of faithful instructors --- thirty-nine on one side of me and twenty seven on the other, to be exact. I'm not a magician, but in the past, one of my manifestations disappeared for a time, and reappeared years later in a desert cave. I often wear a leather jacket, even when temperatures reach over 100 degrees, but neither cold nor heat affects me much. And now, dear reader, it is time for you to give your revelation of the solution to this puzzle. Who, or what am I?
Answer: I am the BIBLE. The two groups of faithful instructors are the Old and New Testaments (39 books in the Old and 27 in the New). The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in a desert cave confirmed the veracity of the original texts. Many Bibles are covered in leather (jackets).
