When you do this, it will explain the apparent price discrepancies. What did Mr. Elle buy?
Answer: Number decorations, because each number is 50 cents. 1 which is only one number is 50 cents, 12 which is two numbers is 1 dollar because 50+50 cents= 1 dollar and same with 312, it is three numbers so it is 50+50+50 cents which is equal 1 dollar and 50 cents. The other answer could also just be that for how many he buys each number in the amount is 50 cents so really it could be anything as long as it fits this equation.
